A proper shirt is what makes a suit look like it was meant for you. Our formal and dress shirt range runs from a plain white poplin for a wedding to a patterned button-down for the office — all of it chosen by hand and hanging on the rail at 49 Ashe Street in Tralee.

• R2 Amsterdam — poplin, fine twill and two-ply cotton in white, blue and navy. The quiet, well-made option.
• Venti — business shirts, including extra sizes.
• Gant and Tommy Hilfiger — classic poplin in white and light blue.

Choosing a shirt to wear with a suit

For a wedding or a debs, white and light blue are the safe answers and they photograph well under any light. If the suit is patterned, keep the shirt plain. If the suit is plain, a micro-print or a fine stripe gives the outfit something to look at.
