Boys Communion Suits Tralee

The honest answer

Buy it, hire it, or have it made

Three ways to end up in a suit, and they suit three different men. Here is the plain version, including when we would tell you to spend less.

Option one

Buy off the rail

From €199 · €249 for a three-piece
  • How longTry it on today. Sleeve and trouser length are adjusted in house, so leave a little room before the date.
  • What you keepThe suit. It is yours, and it turns up again at the next wedding and every interview after.
  • It makes sense whenYou will wear it more than once, or the date is close and you would rather have it settled today.
Option two

Hire the outfit

From €150 per outfit
  • What is in itJacket, trousers and waistcoat, with the fitting included. No deposit, no charge for extra days, and the cleaning is on us. Shirts and shoes are extra, and we stock both.
  • What you keepNothing. It comes back to us afterwards — that is the point, and the reason it costs what it costs.
  • It makes sense whenOne day, one look. A groomsman who already owns a work suit, or a party matching without six men buying six suits.
Option three

Made-to-measure

From €895 · 4–6 weeks
  • How it worksMeasurements, cloth and styling all done in the shop, with over 5,000 fabrics to choose from.
  • What you keepA suit cut to your own measurements, down to the lining and the buttons.
  • It makes sense whenNothing off the rail has ever quite fitted: long arms, broad shoulders, a big drop between chest and waist.

The thirty-second version

  • You will wear it again? Buy it.
  • One day, one look? Hire it.
  • Nothing ever fits you? Have it made.

Still weighing it up? Describe the occasion on the phone or on WhatsApp — that usually settles it.

Timing

How soon do you need it?

The answer depends on the day you are dressing for. This is what we tell people on the phone.

  • This week

An interview, a court date, a job starting Monday

Call in and try a few on. Sleeve and trouser length are handled in house, so allow a few days for the alterations and it leaves Ashe Street fitting you.

  • At short notice

    A funeral suit

Do not wait on a booking. Ring (066) 712 1586 and we will do everything we can, often within 24 to 48 hours.

  • 4–6 weeks

A wedding party off the rail

Room to get everyone in, room to alter, and nobody chasing a hem the night before. Buying or hiring, it is the same advice.

  • About 3 months

    A made-to-measure wedding suit

Measurements and cloth in the shop, four to six weeks to make it, then a fitting after that. Start about three months out and nothing is rushed.

  • August

    The debs

Debs season runs September into October, so August is the month to come into Tralee, while there is still choice and room for alterations.

Fitting

Measured and fitted in Tralee

Buy a suit at Ryle and the fitting comes with it. No sizing chart, no guessing from a photograph, no posting it back.

  • Measured in the shopTaken with a tape on the day, rather than typed into a box at home.
  • Sleeve and trouser length in houseThe usual adjustments are handled here. Alterations are for garments bought at Ryle.
  • Seen on, in a proper mirrorYou put it on, walk about in it, and decide with the shoulders sitting where they should.
  • An honest second opinionIf a jacket is wrong on you, we will say so. It is a family shop on Ashe Street, dressing Kerry men since 1965, not a warehouse.
