Velvet tuxedos — the one people stop and look at
Velvet is what separates a good evening look from a forgettable one, and it photographs beautifully under indoor light. Our velvet three-piece tuxedos are €269 in black, burgundy, deep green, navy and steel grey.
Quieter presence
Patterned and textured dinner jackets
If you want presence without a full velvet suit, a patterned jacket does the same job more quietly. Black from a distance, and then it catches the light and you notice the weave.

Peak lapel or shawl collar?
It comes down to your face and your build, which is easier to judge in a mirror than online.
Peak lapel
Points upward and outward. It broadens the shoulders and adds height, so it suits a slimmer frame.
Shawl collar
One continuous rounded curve with no notch. It's softer, slightly more classic, and sits well on a broader build.

Two-piece or three-piece?
The waistcoat is the difference between €229 and €249, and it earns its keep. At a long event you'll take the jacket off at some point — with a waistcoat you still look dressed, without one you look like a man who took his jacket off.
We keep both four-button and five-button waistcoats. The higher the buttoning, the less shirt you show and the more formal it reads.
For the summer ball
Something other than black
Black is the safe answer and always will be. But a white dinner jacket with black lapels is the sharpest thing in the room at a summer ball or a gala — and almost nobody else will be wearing one. We keep a few in store; come in and see one in daylight before you decide.

If it genuinely is a one-off, we hire as well — and we keep it simple.
- What's included: jacket, trousers and waistcoat.
- Shirt and shoes aren't included. We stock both — dress shirts and black formal shoes — so you can sort them here while you're in.
- No deposit. You don't leave money with us to walk out the door.
- No charge for extra days. We agree a return date and that's it — keep it the weekend, keep it the week.
- Cleaning is on us. Bring it back as it is.

Tuxedo hire starts at €150. That includes the jacket, trousers, waistcoat and shirt. Shoes aren't included, but we stock black formal shoes so you can sort that in the same visit.
Do I have to leave a deposit?
No. There's no deposit on tuxedo hire at Ryle Menswear. You pay the hire charge and that's it.
What if I need it for a few extra days?
There's no charge for extra days. We agree a return date when you collect it — keep it for the weekend or keep it for the week, the price doesn't change.
Do I need to have it cleaned before I bring it back?
No. Cleaning is on us. Bring it back as it is.
